How To Get A Florida Driver’s License

To become a new Florida resident, you’ll need to obtain a Florida driver’s license within 30 days of moving to the Wellington area, but what are the Florida driver’s license requirements for out-of-state drivers? While no written or road driving test is required, you must pass a vision test. If you have an out-of-state license, how can you transfer your out-of-state license to Florida?

  • Swing by the DMV in West Palm Beach.
  • Bring your out-of-state license, along with two proofs of residency and identity (for instance, your birth certificate and passport).
  • Surrender your license.
  • Pass the vision test.
  • Receive your new Florida license.

The next thing you’ll need to do is learn how to get a Florida license plate by registering your car. Let’s explore the Florida car registration process.

How To Register Your Vehicle In Florida

You’ll need to register your vehicle within 10 days of establishing residency, placing your child in a school, or securing employment. First:

  • Gather proof of identity (your birth certificate, passport, etc.), vehicle title, and proof of Florida insurance.
  • Next, complete the Application for Certificate of Title With/Without Registration.
  • Then, go to the DMV with records in hand, and pay the Florida car registration fees of $225.
  • You’ll receive a meta license plate, which you’ll want to attach immediately, so bring a flathead screwdriver.
  • Put the registration certificate you receive in your glove box, and leave it there forever.
  • Finally, place the registration decal you receive from the DMV in the upper right-hand corner of your new license plate.
