Before you can replace your Jaguar key fob battery, you’ll need to first open it. To open your Jaguar key fob:

1. Remove your Jaguar key cover by pressing a button on the side of your fob to release the cover.
2. Slide it back and pull it off. By doing so, you’ll expose your emergency key.
3. Turn the key so that it points in the same direction as the arrow.
4. Remove it and use it to pry the key fob body off of the panel that conceals the battery.

How to Replace a Dead Jaguar Key Fob Battery

Now that you’ve exposed the battery bay, you’ll want to make sure you have a CR2032 on hand, which is the type of battery your Jaguar key fob takes. Then: 

1. Take the old battery out. As you do so, press the upper positive terminal until it touches the negative grid. After recovering the terminal position, the positive contact should be firmly with the upper terminal.
2. Put your new battery in with the positive side turned upward. Then, put your key fob back together. 
3. If your vehicle has passive entry, wait 10 minutes for the battery to recharge before you test your smart key out.
